Mazda’s ability to manufacture uniquely efficient cars by defying engineering and styling convention was given another endorsement today (Friday), by the experts at Carbuyer when they nominated the Mazda6 as the ‘best large family car’ – for the second year in a row – at the website’s 2014 Car of the Year Awards.
The automotive advice website, which describes itself as ‘helping you to decide which car to buy’, chose Mazda6 as the award winner because it offers the best blend of attributes that Carbuyer users demand for their large family cars – efficiency, quality, reliability, safety, technology and practicality.

The 2014 Mazda6 range comprises 20 saloon and 16 tourer models with prices starting from £19,595 and £21,315 respectively (on-the-road). Depending on model, there is a choice of six equipment levels (SE, SE Nav, SE-L, SE-L Nav, Sport and Sport Nav), two petrol engines, two diesels and six-speed manual or automatic transmissions.
Featuring some of the world’s most advanced petrol and diesel engines to lower emissions and fuel consumption without compromising the driving dynamics, the Mazda6 delivers fuel economy up to 72.4mpg and CO2 emissions from as low as 104g/km.
