Simplified 2027 Mazda3 range features new Homura Plus grade

Revealed at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show, the award-winning Mazda3 has proven to be one of Mazda’s biggest global sales success stories. With a silhouette based on the 2017 Kai Concept car, this stylish hatchback was named World Car Design of the Year 2020 and continues to win recognition for its elegant design and minimalist evolution of Mazda’s Kodo design philosophy.

Fourth-generation Mazda3 on sale since 2019

UK sales started in May 2019 and to date, including the Mazda3 Saloon, have reached 28,664, while across Europe more than 180,000 have been sold and globally production has topped 1.5 million cars.

Arriving in the UK later this year the updated 2027 Mazda3 sees the range rationalised to be exclusively hatchback with Mazda3 Saloon sales ceasing in the UK. The Mazda3 is now offered with the 140ps 2.5-litre e-Skyactiv G engine only, which features both cylinder de-activation and Mazda M-Hybrid mild-hybrid technology. With a Prime-Line, Centre-Line, Homura, Exclusive-Line, Homura Plus and Takumi grade walk – the addition of the new Homura Plus model ensures even more choice.

Outside of Prime-Line and Centre-Line, all other grades come with a choice of manual or automatic transmission, while Mazda’s Aero Grey paint colour is available on Mazda3 for the first time. The entry-point Prime-Line model features evolved Smart Brake Support, Emergency Lane Keep and Blind Spot Monitoring technology with increased functionality, while Driver Monitoring has been added to all models. Inside, Prime-Line models now feature gloss black interior trim around the gear lever and cup holders.

Centre-Line and Homura models mirror the same active safety enhancements, while the Exclusive-Line now features gunmetal grey interior decorative panels and driver’s seat tilt adjustment. Externally, the Adaptive LED headlights feature a new internal chrome decoration within the lamp design. New for the 2027 Mazda3 is the Homura Plus model, which builds on Homura specification with 12-speaker BOSE audio, black leather seat trim, power seats, gunmetal and gloss black interior trim panels and 360-degree view monitor. Externally, LED signature lighting helps it stand out, while as before, the Takumi grade remains the range-topping model.

Commenting on the 2027 Mazda3, Jeremy Thomson, Mazda Motors UK Managing Director, said: “the Mazda3 remains one of the best looking and most fun to drive hatchbacks in the market, while the e-Skyactiv G engine blends excellent torque and driveability with strong efficiency. Combine this with the Mazda3’s award-winning styling and it’s easy to see why it remains a benchmark car in the compact hatchback sector”.

Adding, “the 2027 Mazda3 brings subtle upgrades, plus a new Homura Plus model, and crucially with no price increase from the previous model year, continues to represent excellent value for money”.
