2027 Mazda CX-30 introduces expanded line-up and new model grades

Since its launch in 2019 the Mazda CX-30 has proven to be one of Mazda’s biggest global sales success stories. UK sales started in January 2020 and to date have reached 49,419, while across Europe 320,000 have been sold and globally production has topped 1.4 million cars.

Launched in 2020, UK CX-30 sales are approaching 50,000 units

Arriving in the UK later this year the updated 2027 Mazda CX-30 sees the range increase from 17 to 21 models with a new Homura Plus grade joining the line-up alongside the existing Prime-Line, Centre-Line, Homura, Exclusive-Line and Takumi model grades. As before, there’s a choice of 140ps e-Skyactiv G and 186ps e-Skyactiv X petrol engines, with the latter available with all-wheel drive. All models except Prime-Line come with a choice of manual or automatic transmission.

Offered with the e-Skyactiv G engine only, the entry-level Prime Line now benefits from upgraded active safety systems with enhancements to Smart Brake Support, Blind Spot Monitoring that now includes door opening warning and Driver Monitoring now standard on all models. Centre-Line models get an upgrade from 16-inch grey to 18-inch silver alloy wheels.

Available with both engines, the Homura model gets a host of exterior changes to refresh the styling and deliver a sportier look. Matched to dark plated exterior badges, the signature Mazda grille surround wing is now black, while beltline mouldings are Gloss Black. Another new feature is black roof rails to add to the revised appearance.

New for the 2027 model year is the Homura Plus grade, which builds on the Homura grade’s new exterior look with additional equipment that includes 12-speaker BOSE audio, black leather upholstery, power adjustable front seats, interior decorative panels in gunmetal and gloss black, plus front and rear LED signature lighting with LED headlights. Other highlights include a 360-degree view monitor and, for the first time on CX-30, front-seat ventilation.

Taking a different exterior style approach to Homura and Homura Plus, Exclusive Line cars have silver roof rails, a silver signature wing grille surround and a silver beltline trim. Building on Centre-Line specification additional highlights for this grade include interior decorative panels in gunmetal and gloss black and additional stitching in the instrument panel and door trims.

As before, Takumi grade remains the range topping model, but updates for the 2027 model include the same silver roof rails, silver beltline trim and grille surround as Exclusive Line, while new technology featured on this flagship model for the first time includes a 360-degree monitor with a See-Through-View. A technology previously found only in larger SUV models like the Mazda CX-60.

The 2027 Mazda CX-30 will also see the introduction of two new paint colours to the CX-30 range: Aero Grey and Zinc Green Metallic. The newly developed Zinc Green Metallic is a modern green shade that combines toughness and refinement – it will also appear on the 2027 Mazda MX-5.

Arriving in the UK later this year, pricing for the 2027 Mazda CX-30 range will be announced in the Autumn, while the line-up will be further enhanced with the arrival of the Makoto^ special edition model in early 2027. While final UK specification is still to be confirmed, this stand-out model features a new light cloth and stone artificial leather interior, dark plated external badging, black front signature wing, 18-inch black alloy wheels and black mirror caps – to give it a unique look inside and out.

Accounting for around 20 per cent of Mazda UK’s total sales volume, the technology updates and subtle but stylish refinements to the CX-30’s exterior look ensure this popular compact SUV will continue to be a popular choice for UK customers. Commenting on the 2027 Mazda CX-30, Laura Brailey, Mazda Motors UK Sales Director, said: “with the inclusion of more safety features across all models, a pair of new colours and two new model grades, the CX-30 range is stronger than ever. And with the different grades now featuring different roof rail, exterior trim, wheels and grille surround colours there’s even more choice for customers to get a CX-30 that suits their individual style.”
