Laura Brailey recognised in Autocar’s Great Women in the British Car Industry 2022

Laura Brailey, Head of Retail Operations at Mazda UK has been honoured in Autocar’s Great Women in the British Car Industry initiative, which celebrates the top women leading the way in the British automotive sphere.

Run by Autocar Magazine in association with the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), and judged by a panel of automotive experts, the industry’s top women were announced on Tuesday 14 June 2022.

As with previous years, the car industry’s most influential women were selected from the following 11 areas of the car industry: Aftersales and Workshop, Executive, Marketing, Manufacturing, Operations, People Development, PR and Communications, Sales, Purchasing, Vehicle Development, and Mobility and Digital. Plus, an additional category for apprentices which celebrates new talent in the sector at the beginning of their career.

For the third time since the awards started over six years ago, Laura Brailey, Head of Retail Operations at Mazda UK, has been named as a finalist in the Sales category along with 11 other leading women. In addition, Laura has been praised for encouraging greater diversity within the dealership environment with the recent introduction of Mazda’s Gender Balance Initiative.

Commenting on her inclusion in the Autocar Great Women in the British Car Industry 2022, Laura Brailey, Head of Retail Operations at Mazda UK, said: “It’s a huge honour to be recognised as a finalist.  We are making some great strides in addressing the gender balance within the Mazda retail network and working closely with many CEOs and MDs of dealer Groups  to secure their commitments to making change and are seeing some exciting work being delivered.  I am personally thrilled to be closely involved in this project and to be able to make a tangible long lasting difference to our industry.”

Adding, “The Autocar Great British Women initiative shines a light on some great female talent within our industry and hopefully inspires other women to develop their potential – I am very proud to be a part of this.”
