Mazda Production and Sales Results for December 2020 and for January through December 2020

Mazda Motor Corporation’s production and sales results for December 2020 and for January through December 2020 are summarised below.

I. Production

Note 1) Overseas production figures indicate Mazda-brand units coming off the production line (excluding CKD units). Non-Mazda-brand passenger vehicles are included.

Note 2) Global production figures are the sum total of domestic and overseas production volumes.

1. Domestic Production

(1) December 2020

Mazda’s domestic production volume in December 2020 increased 8.8% year on year due to increased production of passenger vehicles.

CX-5:                                  31,989 units (up 25.0% year on year)

MAZDA3:                          14,773 units (up 29.0%)

CX-3:                                   5,886 units (up 51.7%)

Mazda’s total domestic production volume in the period from January through December 2020 decreased 26.1% year on year due to decreased production of passenger and commercial vehicles.

2. Overseas Production

Mazda’s overseas production volume in December 2020 decreased 23.8% year on year due to decreased production of passenger and commercial vehicles.

II. Domestic Sales

(1) December 2020

Mazda’s domestic sales volume in December 2020 decreased 15.6% year on year due to decreased sales of passenger and commercial vehicles.

Mazda’s registered vehicle market share was 4.3% (down 1.5 points year on year), with a 1.8% share of the micro-mini segment (down 0.1 points) and a 3.4% total market share (down 1.0 point).

Mazda’s registered vehicle market share was 4.9% (down 0.2 points year on year), with a 2.1% share of the micro-mini segment (up 0.2 points) and a 3.8% total market share (down 0.1 points).
