Mazda6e Named A Top Three Finalist for World Car Design of the Year 2026

Mazda is proud to announce that the Mazda6e has been selected as one of the Top Three in the World finalists for the prestigious 2026 World Car Design of the Year Award, an Award Mazda has won twice in the past.

A jury of 98 international automotive journalists from 33 countries evaluated eligible vehicles, following recommendations from a panel of seven globally respected design experts. This recognition highlights Mazda’s continued commitment to emotional design, Japanese craftsmanship, and the brand’s evolving Kodo Design philosophy adapted for the era of electrification.

Bridging tradition and innovation, the Mazda6e marks a bold step into the electric future while staying true to the craftsmanship and aesthetic excellence that define the Mazda brand.

Every detail, from the sculpted body to the warm, human‑centered interior, reflects Mazda’s dedication to material excellence and the artisanal approach known as Crafted with Japanese Soul.

Complementing the Mazda6e, the recently revealed Mazda CX-6e expands Mazda’s next-generation EV range and contributes further to Mazda’s success story in Europe.

“We are honoured that the Mazda6e has been named a Top Three finalist for World Car Design of the Year. This recognition celebrates our commitment to craftsmanship and materials, expressed through our ‘Crafted with Japanese Soul’ philosophy. The Mazda6e is a beautiful interpretation of the latest Kodo evolution, and this nomination reinforces Mazda’s ongoing achievement in global design competitions.” – Jo Stenuit, Design Director, Mazda Motor Europe.

The winners of the 2026 World Car Design Award will be announced live on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at the New York International Auto Show during the opening media breakfast.
