Mazda service plans expanded to include out of warranty cars, as brand moves to boost aftersales customer loyalty across network

Mazda has introduced a service plan initiative aimed at boosting the volume of retained cars serviced across its franchised network by including out of warranty models. The move is designed to attract owners of older vehicles who do not currently use Mazda’s dealer network for servicing, as well as those who did not buy their cars from Mazda retailers.

The new Mazda Service Plan, administered by eDynamix, is available for customers to buy at all Mazda dealers when they purchase new cars or Mazda Selected approved used models. For the first time, Mazda is also making its service plans available for existing owners to buy on its UK customer website.

Since launch around 10% of its new service plan sales have been for cars aged over 10 years.

Mazda Service Plan customers also have the option of making voluntary additional monthly contributions for any unexpected replacement costs not covered by their plan. Unused additional contributions can be reclaimed when plans finish.

Mazda Motors UK, Director of Customer Service and Aftersales, David Wilson-Green, said: “Service plans have long enabled car buyers to fix the cost of scheduled servicing. Our latest plan extends that benefit to thousands of owners of older models, giving them access to Mazda-trained technicians in Mazda workshops”.

Adding, “affordability is key to the success of this programme which is why we have ensured that owners of older cars are included and benefit from competitive labour rates. Typically, these customers will be using independent garages and fast-fit centres, so we see this as a valuable way for Mazda dealers to build long term lasting relationships for both servicing work and future car sales”.

“We know from some early successes how compelling the proposition is, with owners of 13-year-old MX-5 and CX-5 models now choosing to service their cherished cars within our dealer network.”
